Over 2,000 delegates attend EMCON 2023

The Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI) is organising its prestigious annual conference EMCON 2023 in Hyderabad. The international event started at HICC Novotel on Friday after a day-long workshop for its members on Thursday. More than 2,000 delegates from across the globe are attending the three-day conference with over 300 scientific schedules.
The SEMI also announced the celebration of its Silver Jubilee, commemorating 25 years of pioneering advancements in emergency medicine in India. This significant milestone signifies a quarter-century of dedicated service, unwavering commitment, and countless lives saved by its dedicated professionals and practitioners. Founded in 1999, the SEMI has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of emergency medical care, pre-hospital care in India.
In a video message, ISRO Chairman S Somanath congratulated the members of the SEMI on the occasion of Silver Jubilee Celebrations. He said, “The role of emergency medicine is becoming very important in view of the increasing population of about 140 crore in the country, the healthcare situations that emerge out of this large chunk of people, expanding city landscapes, the existing industrial ecosystems and lifestyle related issues.”
He further said, “The work done by the members of SEMI in systematically addressing the issues in this domain and in handling the emergency healthcare will pave a long way to the right roadmap for healthcare sector. I believe the SEMI will create a better societal outcome out of this conference.”
